While not every proud mama’s “push present” might be as lavish as that of the stars, “baby baubles” are becoming a much more common expectation of moms across the board.

Though the options are endless, many proud papas will buy bands indicating the sex of the child — sapphire for a boy, pink sapphire for a girl. Some clients opt for a more customized piece, for example, an eternity band showcasing the birthstone of the new baby girl or boy. With each new addition to a family, mom can stack the colorful bands to symbolize the togetherness of her growing brood.

Another very popular gift is a charm necklace or bracelet with the child’s name or initial engraved. Personalizing a round gold disc to be worn around the neck or wrist — with the child’s name and date engraved on the front — has become a common family tradition in recent years.  The gift-giver’s name is often engraved on the back of the disc, while many include a diamond letter charm to accompany the disc on a bracelet.
