What’s better than April showers bringing May flowers?
April birthday’s bringing… DIAMONDS!
A diamonds is the official birthstone of April and is remarkably simple in composition, yet stunning in its unique ability to reflect and refract light into vivid flashes of brilliant color. The ancient Hindus called the Diamond “Vajra,” meaning lightening, both because of the sparks of light thrown off by this gem as well as its invincible strength. The Diamond is harder than any other substance on earth.
At George Press Fine Jewelers in Livingston, NJ, master designer and crafter George Press has been creating pieces that center around diamonds for generations.
“We have taken a mother’s diamond earring and turned them into engagement rings for her sons, we have reset diamonds for clients centered on birthdays, anniversaries and all other special occasions, making their jewelry design dreams come true. It is my passion to take a design from someone’s mind and turn it into a work of art they always dreamed of” says George Press.
Diamonds have been revered throughout history. Used to embellish such items as crowns, swords and emblems as well as jewelry, they’ve even been part of national holidays. Queen Victoria declared the celebration of her 50th year of reign a “Diamond Jubilee.”
Check out some celebrities who have birthdays in the month of April and probably have a few diamonds themselves:

A gift of a Diamond is symbolic of everlasting love which is why engagement rings traditionally are made with diamonds as the stone of choice. There is no more convincing a promise of an enduring relationship than the brilliant gemstone that has endured in people’s hearts throughout the ages.
