The Passion Behind the Name

Few things captivate George Press more than a stunning diamond; his passion for the world’s most precious gem is truly contagious. This enthusiasm is one of the key reasons why the jewelry emporium in Livingston that bears his name has flourished.

For George, it’s quite simple: “When you love what you do, it creates a positive energy that people are drawn to.”

A Family Legacy of Fine Jewelry

Located at 74 South Livingston Avenue in Livingston, New Jersey, George Press Jewelers has been the premier source of fine jewelry for over four decades. Serving Livingston and the surrounding areas, the store offers an exquisite selection of bridal collections, fine jewelry, timepieces, and custom designs created by George himself. George, his wife Cheryl, their expert staff and daughter Jill, have cultivated a loyal customer base that now spans multiple generations.

“I have clients that came in 45 years ago to pick out their engagement rings, and now I’m helping their children and grandchildren do the same thing.”

From Artist to Master Jeweler

George’s journey into the world of jewelry began unexpectedly. Born into a family of artists and photographers, he initially planned to follow in their footsteps by attending Pratt Institute, one of the nation’s finest art schools. However, a summer job at a prominent jeweler ignited his passion for working with precious stones and metals. After honing his skills with renowned jewelers, George opened his first shop on South Livingston Avenue in 1980.

A Landmark in the Community

In 1995, George Press Jewelers moved to its current location in the historic Mayflower Bank Building, transforming from a fine jewelry store into a beloved community institution. The building was meticulously renovated, blending its classic architecture with a warm and inviting atmosphere. Today, stepping into George Press Jewelers feels like walking into a sunlit treasure trove, where every customer is greeted with a smile and a sense of belonging—whether they leave with a new piece of jewelry, a new friend, or simply a piece of chocolate.
